These were the words on the T-shirt, which Pascal Lamy, Head of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) presented to Maxim Medwedkow the chief Russian negotiator.

This gift is most notably a symbol for the total of 18 years of negotiations Russia had to conduct until it was admitted to the WTO. As from 16.12.2011 these negotiations will have been successful and Russia will become the 154th member of the World Trade Organisation. The German economy has high hopes of the new partner. 

The WTO President has stated that the admittance of an important partner like Russia adds to the significance of the World Trade organisation.
