On 09.11.2011 the Croatian President, Ivo Josipovic, the outgoing Croatian Prime Minister, Jadranka Kosor and the Heads of Government of the 27 EU Member States will sign the EU Accession Treaty in Brussels. This brings Croatia not just one step closer to fulfilling its long-term ambition,the goalposts are now in sight.

There is just one more hurdle to be faced. This hurdle is a referendum at the beginning of February 2012, in which the Croatian people will agree upon entry into the EU. Once this hurdle is passed, from the 1st June 2013 Croatia will be able to count itself as the 28th member of the European Union.
