On account of the general economic situation, an increase of 7.8% in cargo rates was registered across all traffic sectors in the second quarter of this year, compared with the previous quarter.

These figures are taken from the current Transport Market Monitor by Transporeon and Capgemini Consulting. The rise in prices can be explained by the rise in the price of diesel and also by the lowest capacity utilisation since recordings of these figures began.

According to experience, prices usually rise in the third and fourth quarter of a year. This can also factor in this year for a different reason, namely that of the precarious business developments, which will serve to lower the cargo price of land traffic and other forwarding agency services in Europe and the USA.
