According to the German Commercial Code (HGB), the definition of
freight forwarder refers to a company which accepts
freight orders and forwards them to third parties.
A company which only carries out transport orders is a
transport company, i.e. not a
freight forwarder. Only companies who accept orders and forward them to third parties are referred to as
freight forwarders. Freight forwarders are divided into national
freight forwarders and international
freight forwarders.
A
freight forwarder and a
transport company are differentiated by the type of goods which booth transport. A
freight forwarder covers the complete service requirements of the transport industry. When one considers the volume of goods to be transported, it becomes clear how important the
freight forwarder has become in today's globalised world. From a simple transport order of a pallet to the organisation of comprehensive logistics solutions for large companies, this is where the
freight forwarder can be found.

freight forwarder of the future, which is involved not only in forwarding transport orders but more importantly in the complete support of the shipment and of the customer as well as personal consultancy for large logistics projects.
